  • What is Reiki?

    Reiki (ray-kee) is a gentle, holistic technique that is used to promote stress reduction and relaxation. It is an ancient healing modality (over 2,500 years old) that was rediscovered in Japan in the early 1900's.

    Reiki is becoming more popular in clinical settings! Many hospitals in the U.S. now offer Reiki as a complementary therapy. It is a wonderful way to help speed up recovery time, improve healing, reduce side effects from treatment or medication, reduce anxiety and stress, improve sleep, decrease pain, and boost the immune system.

    Reiki works at the level of your body's natural energy field. Everything in this world is made of energy, including your body. Reiki is defined as spiritually guided "life force" energy. 

    Your body functions at its best when your energy is centered and balanced. Reiki helps to activate your innate, self-healing abilities, and reduce stress. 

    Reiki aids in restoring mind-body-spirit balance and harmony.

  • Why should I get a session?

    In times of stress, you may feel any imbalance in the form of irritability, forgetfulness, anxiety, exhaustion, feeling overly emotional, or simply feeling "out of sorts." 

    Over time, trauma, stress, fear, and anxiety could lead to the development of energetic blockages in your body and subtle energy system. Energetic blockages, if left untreated, may eventually cause physical or emotional issues to appear. 

    Receiving Reiki assists in removing these blockages, so that your body can be in a natural state of balance. We all feel our best when our energy is free-flowing and balanced!

    Reiki sessions may supplement conventional medical care by reducing anxiety, relieving stress, reducing side effects, decreasing pain, improving mental clarity, and shortening healing time. After a Reiki session, most people report feeling calm, light, relaxed, and happy. It is a great way to help speed up recovery time, improve healing, reduce side effects from treatment or medication, reduce anxiety and stress, improve sleep, decrease pain, and boost the immune system.

  • Who can benefit from Reiki?

    Adults, children, and pets can benefit from Reiki sessions! Reiki is gentle and intuitive. Children and pets often benefit from shorter sessions- 30 minutes is often enough time for them to start feeling the benefits.

    In children, Reiki can help alleviate anxious and fearful feelings, while promoting feelings of safety, calm, focus, self-love, self-acceptance, and confidence. Sessions can be conducted while your child is sleeping or while they are awake.

    In pets, Reiki can help with reducing stress/anxiety, recovery after illness/injury, and end of life care. Distance Reiki sessions - or working off-body - are wonderful alternatives for animals that are stressed, anxious, or in pain.

  • What does Reiki feel like?

    Your experience during a Reiki session may vary from one session to another, as life happens, and the energy in your body is always changing. You may be surprised at the different sensations, emotions, and experiences you feel when you receive Reiki sessions. 

    You may feel a little nervous or excited in the beginning of the session. After a few minutes, you may feel calmer, take slower, deeper breaths, and feel relaxed. You might feel hot, cold, tingly, or notice other physical sensations. You might see colors, hear noises/sounds/ringing, or feel your stomach grumbling. 

    You may feel old emotions or memories that come up for healing. If that happens, allow yourself to release the emotions (cry, laugh, scream, etc.,) and then let them go. You may even connect with your angels, ancestors, or guides & receive messages from them.

    These sensations can be experienced in both in-person and distance Reiki sessions.

    Important side note: if you do not feel any of these sensations, it does not mean that Reiki did not work! Often, there is great variability between each person and each session.

    Reiki goes wherever it is needed, for the recipient's Highest Good. You will always benefit from receiving Reiki from a qualified practitioner. The beauty of your body (and your Higher Self) is that it knows exactly what it needs to do to heal itself.

  • What is distance Reiki?

    Distance or remote Reiki has the same benefits as an in-person session! It is simply a session where you do not have to be physically present or in the same room as Stefanie. 

    We are all made up of energy. Energy is not limited to space and time. Since our energy is just a small part of a larger whole (hello, Universe!), distance Reiki can bypass the physical limitations of distance and be transmitted to anyone, at any time or place!

    Distance sessions are perfect for people who feel more comfortable receiving Reiki at home, for those unable to travel, for children (who may have a harder time sitting still), and for those who cannot physically be present.

    For remote Reiki, Stefanie connects to Spirit and the recipient energetically, using the Distance Reiki symbol and her intention to move energy into the recipient's mental, spiritual, emotional, and physical being. Spiritual insights and follow-up messages are emailed or sent once the session is completed.

    To schedule your distance Reiki session, we will agree upon and schedule a date and time for your Reiki session (Eastern Standard Time- New York). For traditional distance Reiki sessions, you technically don't need to do anything at all! Reiki will be sent to you for the agreed upon date/time, regardless of what you are doing! However, it is recommended that you find a quiet place to sit/lie down, as you may notice more sensations if you are able to relax.

    Stefanie has sent distance Reiki to hundreds of people (adults, children, & pets) in countries all over the world (including the US, UK, France, Australia, Switzerland, India, Iran, Canada, Portugal, Ireland, and more!).

  • What might I experience after?

    You may feel, energized, calm, motivated, sleepy, or relaxed. Drink a glass of water following your session, and try to get some extra rest.

    If a major block of energy (or cellular memory) was released, you might feel emotional or sleepy, as Reiki is moving through your energy system and helping to bring old energetic wounds to the surface. If this happens, it may last 1-3 days while the energy moves through your system. Drink more water than you normally would, get enough rest, and eat healthy food.

    Journaling can be very helpful during this time, as a way for you to process your thoughts and experiences. 

    You may begin to notice synchronicities, spiritual "coincidences," and shifts happening within and outside of you after your session.Reiki helps to open up your third eye chakra and activate your intuitive abilities.

    It is a beautiful part of the healing journey. Be grateful and in awe of those moments and you might even begin to notice more of them!

  • Can I learn Reiki?

    Everyone has the capability to learn how to channel Reiki!

    To do so, check out my Reiki classes. I really started healing tremendously after I took my first Reiki class because I could practice it daily!

  • When should I get a session?

    There is no right or wrong answer! Truly, it is totally up to you! If you start to feel increasingly stressed, anxious, fearful, unmotivated, ungrounded, and unfocused, it might be the perfect time to book a Reiki session.

    If there is a pressing or chronic issue, it is beneficial to come at least once a month. For an acute issue, some people prefer weekly or bi-weekly sessions for acute issues.

    For those who want to maintain good energy balance, Reiki sessions four times a year (at the beginning of each season) may be helpful.
